What kind of paint is Daydream Apothecary?

Daydream Apothecary Paint is a water-based decorative paint with an ultra-matte finish. It is a Clay and Chalk based paint with exceptional adhesion properties. Daydream Apothecary Paint is specifically formulated to produce a variety of artistic finishes.

Does Daydream Apothecary Paint require prep or priming?

Daydream Apothecary Paint adheres to most surfaces without sanding or priming. Always apply Daydream Apothecary Paint to a clean, dry surface. Thoroughly clean and rise surface and allow to dry before painting.

Certain paint-resistant surfaces, such as laminate, rusty surfaces, or surfaces with loose or peeling paint may require additional prep work.

Daydream Apothecary Paint should be stirred thoroughly before each use.

Daydream Apothecary is a water-based paint. When left open exposed to air, water will evaporate, and paint will thicken. When water is added paint will become thinner.

How long does it take for Daydream Apothecary Paint to dry?

Daydream Apothecary Paint dries in about 25-35 minutes. However, dry times may vary depending on your climate and the thickness of application. The second coat will dry faster than the first coat, and more heavily pigmented colors (darker and/or brighter) will take longer to dry.

How should I store my paint?

Always clean the lids and rims of Daydream Apothecary cans to ensure an airtight seal. Keep in a cool, dry climate. Daydream Apothecary Paints do not contain antifreeze and need to be protected from freezing temperatures.

Can Daydream Apothecary Paint be used in a Sprayer?

Daydream Apothecary Paint can be applied through a paint sprayer, but it will need to be thinned with approximately 30-35% water (check your sprayer’s requirements) prior to spraying.

Can Daydream Apothecary Paint be used on walls?

Yes, it provides a luxurious velvety matte finish.

Do I need to seal Daydream Apothecary Paint?

Yes, Daydream Apothecary Paint is not an all-in-one formula. We recommend Dream Coat, our Low Luster Matte topcoat to seal each project.

Apply 2-3 coats of Dream Coat to protect each project.
